Again, I was brought up in era of the "customer is always right" and "underpromise/overdeliver" mentality. ⁠

As soon as I got that little notification, I'd switch over to see what someone needed.⁠

It's a recipe for fatigue and burn-out. 😵‍💫⁠

I've read productivity books, engaged coaches and talked to freelancers. It's taken me a while, but have finally gotten out of the habit of checking email throughout the day.⁠

And, guess what?⁠

Nothing has suffered:⁠
⁠
🏆Everyone gets their answers within 24-48 hours⁠
🏆I'm giving them better answers because I'm focused⁠
🏆My daily work is getting done when it's supposed to⁠

And yet, it's only when I discuss money that I start to achieve my goals. ⁠

My first business coaches helped me see my pricing needed to increase because of the value I provide.⁠
⁠
I could then set prices that both represent this value and keep me accessible to my chosen audience.⁠

On a bigger scale, talking money exposes wage gaps for women, the environmental toll of cheap goods made by cheap labor and many other societal challenges. ⁠

Without pulling back the curtain, we cannot improve. I'm always happy to talk money with freelancers and give my clients transparent pricing.⁠

I tend to run in bursts. I read a book or attend a seminar, and the motivation runs high. I run, run, run, doing all the things.⁠

As my ADHD friends would say, the dopamine hit has past.⁠

I also get stuck thinking if I can't do it all, I won't do any. ⁠

🤯If I can't post the most MIND-BLOWING post, I won't post.⁠
📣If I can't be on alllllllll the socials, I won't be on any.⁠

Then the what-ifs? start.⁠

❓What if what I post is stupid.⁠
❓What if what I post isn't right.⁠
❓What if what I post doesn't engage.⁠

As a good friend tells me often, "oh well!"⁠

I post anyway, while the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings are there. That's when I see results. ⁠
