My Brand Story

April 20, 2018, I was let go from my job. It was around 11 am. Unbeknownst to them, I was 3 months pregnant.

I knew something bad was going to happen. It wasn’t the best environment. Coworkers were let go, my creative director quit, and projects were no longer coming my way. I literally had nothing to do. So, I created an online portfolio and started tapping into my network — just to see what people were up to in terms of their copywriting needs.

Meanwhile, my husband and I were struggling to stay pregnant. They were the darkest days of my life.

About 2 hours after I was let go, we had our 3-month ultrasound. For the first time in 4 pregnancies, we heard the words, “everything looks good.”

I knew then everything was going to be okay.

I lost my job on a Friday. I had my first client on Monday.
The Write Difference was born.

Six months later, our second daughter was born.

And I’ve never looked back.

Meet Jenn Prochaska

Hi there! I’m the captain of this ship, and I’m so grateful you’re here. And because you’ll ask, it’s pronounced (Pro HASS Kah). Here’s a little about me, so you can trust your brand messaging is in good hands.

You’ll get an experienced marketer.

I’ve been in sales & marketing for 25+ years. Everything I write for you comes with knowledge and enthusiasm. I’ve seen some sh*t, my friends.

Websites are my jam.

As a former web development agency account manager, I write copy that leverages real-world design and technology. Anything can read well in a copy doc.

Real life means something.

Anyone can take a copywriting course. But do they have real-life writing experience? I’ve written for the big guys, from Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen (during their legal, uh, challenges) and Toyota to Oreo Cookies, Stonyfield and Ritz Crackers. I balance creativity within compliance pretty darn well.

Marketing is not magic.

It’s part science, part art, and a dash of luck. Everything we write flows within the holistic conversation you’re having with your ideal customers.

And then there was Dolly.

I wrote Dolly Parton’s first internet marketing plan. I defined things like “digital download” and “live streaming.” She wouldn’t know who I am at this point, but there was a time.

EMPOWER SMALL: Small business is the backbone of a flourishing society. When people are given the opportunity to put food on the table by doing what they love, they experience gratitude, pride and sincere fulfillment. And when they take that foundation into the world, they inspire others to do the same. That’s a cycle we want to empower.

KEEP IT REAL: People often tell me they appreciate that I share life’s ups and downs and my feelings surrounding them. I’m often moved emotionally (aka I cry easily), I laugh about my shortcomings, and I don’t care about the Oxford comma. I mean, really. Aren’t there better battles to pick?

How boring would the world be if we were all the same? No, thanks. I love a different perspective, a unique story. Anyone associated with The Write Difference celebrates diversity. We value basic human rights for all, regardless of sex, gender, race or sexual orientation.
